Thai Hot Dog

Grilled sausage in a bun with spicy peanut sauce, garlic, ginger, cilantro, chopped peanuts, and cilantro. The slaw often includes jalapeño and cabbage for crunch and heat.

Thai Hot Dogs are a vibrant, street-side snack often found grilled on skewers or incorporated into other dishes rather than served in a bun. In Bangkok and throughout Thailand, you’ll see red or pale hot dogs sizzling on charcoal grills, glazed with sweet chili sauce or soy-based marinades. They’re frequently served with sticky rice, wrapped in banana leaves, or chopped and tossed into fried rice or stir-fries. One popular variation is the “Thai sausage-on-a-stick” with zigzag cuts to maximize char and crispness. Thai hot dogs reflect the local love of bold flavors—sweet, spicy, and savory all at once. It’s not about the bun—it’s about the fire and flavor.
