About Hot-Dog-o-Pedia
Preserving the rich culinary heritage of hot dog traditions from around the world, one authentic recipe at a time.
Hot-Dog-o-Pedia was born from a simple observation: the humble hot dog has evolved into countless regional variations, each with its own unique history, cultural significance, and devoted following. Yet this rich culinary diversity was scattered across local knowledge, family traditions, and regional cookbooks.
Our mission is to create the world's most comprehensive and accurate database of authentic hot dog styles. We believe that every regional variation tells a story—of immigration, adaptation, local ingredients, and community pride. By documenting these styles with proper historical context and cultural respect, we're preserving culinary heritage for future generations.
We're not just collecting recipes; we're celebrating the communities that created them and continue to keep these traditions alive.

Brett Murray
Just a Man with a Dream
This whole thing started with a lifelong solid admiration of hot dogs… and a midlife compulsion to get hands-on with AI. One day I thought: "How many styles of hot dogs are there in the world? It would be interesting to try to eat every single kind." Turns out, no one really knew. Not Wikipedia. Not five different AI models I tried (and pitted against each other, Hunger Games-style). So I painstakingly clawed together what might be the most complete hot dog database ever assembled by man, agent, or troll. I could not keep this treasure to myself, so here we are.
Is it accurate? Eh. Is it complete? Never. Is it delicious? 'Natch.
So now we've got the Hot-Dog-o-Pedia: a growing, messy, sticky, glorious archive of the world's regional dogs. Think I missed one? I probably did. Tell me. Yell at me. My AI buddies will filter out your (truly filthy) profanity and we'll make it better, together. Don't forget your towel.
Hot-Dog-o-Pedia thrives because of our amazing community of contributors. From local food enthusiasts sharing family recipes to professional chefs documenting regional specialties, our community makes this project possible.

We're constantly working to expand our coverage and improve our documentation. Our roadmap includes deeper exploration of Asian and African hot dog traditions, enhanced multimedia content, a dating app ("Dog-Meet-Dog"? No? Moving on...), and interactive features that help preserve and share these culinary treasures. We're also likely to need cholesterol meds sooner rather than later.
Thank you for being part of this journey to celebrate and preserve the wonderful diversity of hot dog culture around the world.
