Cachorro Quente

National style of hot dog topped with various ingredients like cheese, peas, mayonnaise, and crispy potato sticks; sometimes with mashed potatoes, ground beef, corn, onions, and peppers.

Brazil’s cachorro quente is customizable and beloved. Sausages are often simmered in a tomato‑vegetable sauce and served in a soft bun, then showered with crunchy batata palha (shoestring potatoes). Common add‑ons include corn, peas, grated cheese, ketchup, mustard, and mayo; some regions add creamy mashed potato or vinaigrette.
