Completo

Umbrella name for a large hot dog topped with chopped tomatoes, mashed avocado, mayonnaise, and sometimes sauerkraut or salsa; a national style in Chile.

Chile’s completo is a post‑war hot‑dog‑plus‑salad in a bun, most famously the ‘Italiano’ with tomato, chucrut (sauerkraut), and mashed avocado crowned with mayonnaise. Oversized buns and franks carry the load. Regional shops tweak ratios, but the tricolor stack remains the standard.
